That’s exactly what happened today when longtime eBay seller and sneaker collector Patrick Ryan relinquished his original player sample Air Jordan 1 “Chicago” from 1985 in deadstock condition to sell on the e-commerce platform. This pair was initially created for MJ to wear during the 1985-86 NBA season, but he never got a chance to lace them up after breaking his foot in October 1985. When MJ was ready to hit the court again that season, Nike created a custom version of the shoe for him that featured an additional ankle strap for support. The listed shoe comes in Jordan’s famous mismatched sizes with the left shoe in a size 13 and the right pair in a size 13.5.
